Trees for Troops
Trees For Troops is a nationwide program to provide freshly cut Christmas trees to soldiers and their families at military bases across the United States and to troops overseas. FedEx Freight provides the pickup-and-delivery service for the Christmas Spirit Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the National Christmas Tree Association. Donated trees are distributed to families at military bases throughout the U.S. Morale officers and chaplains assign the trees to families based on need. Trees sent to the troops are given to company or squadron size units of 200-300 soldiers as their group tree. The real Christmas Trees provide the fragrance and feel of Christmas to soldiers thousands of miles from home and family during the Christmas season. Families at U.S. bases get the opportunity to enjoy a real tree and the support of a grateful nation.
In 2018 The Daniken Tree Farm was able to send trees to Scott Air Force Base, and some smaller local bases.
